FuoriSalone 2007: Iris in Milan

Digital Home, Interni Magazine's Info Point
"When I was working on the temporary info point installation for Interni in Piazza Cordusio, I suddenly imagined I was telling a 'non-story' that would be capable of hosting a variety of functions, of revealing things, of making the visitor into a thrilled participant in a candid, serene, padded space.

It is an interactive space, a design formally and materially describing a volume in which people meet, a three-dimensional space within which to communicate, a metropolitan home, my dream come true.

Perfect white and fluorescent orange, with fluid geometries and particular effects created by light and sound: these are the ingredients in the installation I have created".

Hard Relax, Castello Sforzesco
"A big chair, a mnemonic hint at a bookcase transformed into a macro-work: these are the keys to my installation for the reading area in Castello Sforzesco at Fuorisalone 2007.

White porcelain stoneware and shades of fluorescent orange, with a strip of blue neon light, are the "materials" I used to construct this three-dimensional space.

Hard Relax is designed to sit down and rest, rediscovering your relationship with your body; a place where visitors can interact with each other or with things in a different way. I designed this bit of space as if it were a city, a work of architecture, a new world".
Simone Micheli

Simone Micheli used Victoria tiles from Iris Ceramica's MA.DE collection in both installations.
