Prize for Innovation in Ceramics 2000

The organising staff of the "Innovation in Ceramics" meeting has established, starting from 2000, an international prize - represented by a sculpture in silver by Alberto Ottaviani - to be awarded to an entrepreneur, a manager, an engineer or researcher who has significantly contributed to the development of the ceramics industry at an international level.

The committee awarded the Prize for Innovation, in its first edition, to Dr. Romano Minozzi, chairman of the Iris Ceramica Group and a distinguished example of a modern-day businessman.
Mr. Minozzi has consciously contributed to the affirmation and the development of ceramics throughout the world and yet, both in business and personal relationships, he has imprinted his own style of instinctive elegance and precision, qualities which characterise the very best of industrialists.

The award ceremony was attended by:
- Dr. Italia Fortunati, Prefect of Modena
- Prof. Giancarlo Pellacani, Rector of the University of Modena
- Prof. Giovanni Aliprandi, lecturer in Ceramic Studies at the University of Genoa
- Prof. Pietro Vincenzini, Chairman of Council at the International Academy of Ceramics

The prize was awarded by Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, President of the Association of Modena Industrialists and President of Ferrari S.p.A.
