ACTIVE in India

The recent partnership between the GranitiFiandre - Iris Ceramica Group and Somany Ceramics Limited will give the ACTIVE Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic™ line greater visibility on the Indian market.

When he announced the agreement, Abhishek Somany, JMD (joint managing director) of Somany Ceramics, emphasised that his group is working hard to promote green eco-active technology for ceramic cladding materials and offer Indian customers products which are prominent all over the world.

These are features characteristic of Active, confirmed by recent tests conducted by the department of physical chemistry and electrochemistry at Milan University demonstrating that products in the ACTIVE Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic™ line can restore pollutant levels to below the threshold of 40 microg/m3 in only 3 hours. This means that a 100 m2 surface covered with Active tiles can degrade as many NOx (nitrogen oxide) pollutants in six hours as 30 trees would do in one day.

Valentino Capucci (R&D Active-Ceramic) of the GranitiFiandre Iris Ceramica underlined that the two groups share the common goal of meeting demand on the Indian market with top quality, ecological, sustainable products. GranitiFiandre - IRIS Ceramica will contribute their experience in the field and innovative products, while Somany Ceramics will offer a vast sales network with representatives in major Indian cities such as Delhi, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Cochin, Coimbatore, Chandigarh, Indore and Surat.
