Liquid Cosmo Grey by Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica wins the IIDA/ HD Expo Product Design Award

Liquid Cosmo Grey by Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica has won the IIDA/ HD Expo Product Design Award for the Flooring / Hard Surfaces category, at the 24th edition of the awards organised by the International Interior Design Association in partnership with Hospitality Design magazine.

News has come from the United States of the new, prestigious award for the ceramic surfaces produced by Iris Ceramica, a brand of the Iris Ceramica Group, a result that further crowns a very important year marking the anniversary of the Group’s 60 years of business history.

The large format Liquid Cosmo Grey, developed within the partnership of Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica, won an award for the Flooring / Hard Surfaces category, during the Hospitality Design event ‘HD Expo’ held on 24 and 25 August in Las Vegas.

The prestigious awards promoted by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), in partnership with Hospitality Design magazine, reward materials that meet precise evaluation criteria concerning innovation, environmental sustainability, functionality and aesthetic and technical progress, particularly targeting the hospitality sector.

The projects are selected by a panel of experts, consisting of designers, architects and sector professionals, including Mari Ansera, IIDA, ASID, senior associate of HGA Architects and Engineers; Mike Johnson II, IIDA, senior associate of Perkins&Will; Alexis Moore, IIDA, healthcare designer at Gresham Smith. The awards are part of the association's activities targeting both sector operators and the general public, aiming to increase the awareness and understanding of interior design, both in economic terms as a basic characteristic for increasing the commercial value of property, and as a fundamental player in the positive impact on everyday health and well-being that interiors have on people’s lives.

Close attention to the rapidly developing needs in the hospitality sector, appropriate, sustainable and - above all - human-focused materials are the fundamental characteristics that Cheryl S. Durst, executive vice-President and CEO of IIDA, identified in the winners.

The Liquid Cosmo collection by Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica is a clear example of this. In this collection, beauty lies in the finest details. The colours bring life to a cosmic pattern, making the technical ceramic surface a charming mix of colours underlining shades of grey, for the prize-winning material which recalls the hues of the earth, as well as purple and green in the other two variants in the collection. The result is a floating trail of matter that spreads to give spaces a profound sense of beauty and majestic elegance. Blending the functional qualities of technical ceramics with an important, explosive visual and aesthetic impact, the large format Liquid Cosmo brings dynamism to any space, a sense of continuous evolution enhancing the observer’s awareness of being a part of the infinite universe that surrounds us. The collection comes with a polished finish, 6 mm thick and a large format up to 300x150 cm, in three variants: Grey, Purple and Green.
