Centro Commerciale Coop Milano

The Coop prototype unveiled at Expo 2015 finds its first permanent implementation in the so-called Supermarket of the Future, the brand’s new store inside Bicocca Village, Milan. The multimedia innovations conceived by Carlo Ratti Associati for Coop have evolved into a completely rethought retail concept, designed by Area 17 and INRES, where the shopping experience blends seamlessly with digital interaction and sustainability. A key feature of the project is the choice of Iris Ceramica floor and wall coverings, including collections developed in collaboration with Diesel, expressing a young, urban and contemporary language. The design goes beyond pure functionality to create a place of discovery and social interaction. Wood-look porcelain stoneware and industrial-inspired textured surfaces establish a warm yet dynamic atmosphere, consistent across all areas — including the carefully designed restrooms. The project showcases Iris Ceramica’s ability to meet the needs of contemporary retail architecture with solutions that combine design, innovation, and environmental sustainability, elevating the quality of everyday experiences.
