In the greatest contemporary design projects, ceramic surfaces and furnishings bring exceptionally stunning, amazing places to life.
The Design Hotel Laurichhof in Pirna, Germany is one of the most creative, innovative buildings, in part due to Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica ceramic surfaces. From the outset it was designed to stimulate the senses and create dramatic visual impact. The Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica collection reinforces this innovative, creative flair through unprecedented combinations, powerful style concepts, and unrestrained, eye-catching use of materials. Designed by Seidel + Architects, Hotel Laurichhof is a multifaceted, inspirational venue, conceived as a lookbook, a cinematic storyboard where the 27 individual suites explore trends using images and styles ranging from traditional or romantic to modern. The hotel also enjoys a spectacular location in the romantic town of Pirna, in the heart of Saxon Switzerland. Set in a rocky landscape, one of the most beautiful in Europe, Pirna was a destination for artists and free thinkers in the mid-18th century. The first stop on the famous Painters’ Way, it is a meeting point between two worlds: the bustling city and its historic attractions on the one hand, and unspoilt nature on the other, with creeks and sandstone rocks all creating a fairytale, wild landscape.
The hotel’s 27 individual suites, luxuriously furnished with designer pieces ranging from ceramic tiles to chairs, whisk guests into an almost fantasy dream world. All of which creates an unforgettable vacation experience. The designers particularly focused "on living surrounded by furniture, furnishings and accessories from world-renowned designers, while also showcasing individual design concepts which make the best possible use and change the mood of the interiors". Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica is therefore the natural choice for contemporary tiling, combining the technical performance of Iris Ceramica tiles with wide-ranging, diverse aesthetic styles.
For this project, Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica was chosen for the Pop Art and My Way suites. In the first, 60 x 60cm tiles from the Cement Mexican collection in Slight Blue were used, while the second features 20 x 20cm tiles from the Glass Blocks collection in Dusty White. Finally, 60 x 60cm tiles from the Stage collection in Metallic Grey Boss. Pop Art is not just a suite but rather a "way of life, as bold and succinct as its times". With vibrant colors and bold combinations, the room’s lights, accessories, carpets, curtains and graphic upholstery create a casual yet eye-catching ambiance. Designed for "people who are always on the move", the yellow and black My Way suite features travel graphics (buses, cars, bikes) and a central table in the shape of a tire. A room that reminds us how close Hotel Laurichhof is to one of the most beautiful, natural landscapes for vacations in Germany.
With their irresistible creative look, Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica ceramic surfaces are a visually impactive choice, which perfectly complement a youthful, contemporary ambiance such as that of the Hotel Laurichhof.
